Almyrida is situated on the North coast of Western Crete, not far from the city of Chania. It is only about 25Km from Chania airport and 15Km from the ferry port at Chania.

Beautiful Chania city is about a 30 minute drive away, and nearby are the villages of Kalyves and the local administrative centre of Vamos.

The backdrop to the village are the White Mountains with peaks over 2,400 metres (7,875 ft).
